Belgium vs Russia – Euro 2020
Euro 2020 – Saturday 12th June 20.00
Belgium take on Russia in Group B at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Russia. We take a look at the stats and best football tips.
Euro 2020 kicks off on Friday and on Saturday Belgium face Russia in the second match from Group B . The historic stats favour Belgium who have won five of the last seven head to head games with the other two games ending in a draw.
Denmark and Finland make up the rest of the group and the bookies see it as pretty tight between Russia and Denmark for second place. The odds to qualify are currently: Belgium 1/20, Denmark 2/9, Russia 2/5 and Finland 5/2.
These two were both in the same qualification group and Belgium beat Russia 4-1 at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on 16 November 2019 in their penultimate UEFA EURO 2020 qualifier. Thorgan Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and an Eden Hazard double secured the win for Belgium. Belgium also won the reverse fixture 3-1.
Blegium – PL 10 | Won 10 | GF 40 | GA 3
The Belgians are in incredible form and as you can see from their Euro 2020 qualification stats above they won all 10 games scoring an incredible 4 goals per game on average whilst only conceding 3 goals. That group included Russia and Scotland in second and third and both were soundly beaten home and away. Belgium have knockout tournament experience reaching the Semi Final of World Cup 2018 and are expected to perform well at Euro 2020.
Goals Scored and Shots On Target:
- Romelu Lukaku – 7 goals in 4 appearances & 2.69 SOT per 90
- Kevin De Bruyne – 4 goals in 5 appearances & 2.45 SOT per 90
- Eden Hazard – 2 goals in 5 appearances & 1.67 SOT per 90
Russia – PL 10 | Won 8 | GF 33 | GA 8
The Russians have been in good form winning eleven of their last fifteen but two of those games were losses to Belgium. They finished second in the group and beat third place Scotland home and away scoring an impressive 3.3 goals per game. Russia have scored in each of their last fifteen games and i think that whilst they are a level below Belgium they are still a good team and will beat most teams below the elite.
Goals Scored and Shots On Target:
- Artem Dzyuba – 8 goals in 8 appearances & 2.55 SOT per 90
- Aleksandr Golovin – 2 goals in 6 appearances & 1.42 SOT per 90
- Aleksei Ionov – 2 goals in 6 appearances & 0.84 SOT per 90
Betting Tips: I am expecting goals, both games in the group stages featured plenty of goals and i would expect to see a similar 3 or 4-1 scoreline.

William Hill Euro 2020 Deal – £5 Free Bets
William Hill are offering a very good deal with a £10 bet on the tournament winner getting a £5 free bet for every group match won. The best teams to back there would be Belgium who share a group with Denmark, Finland and Russia and would expect to win all three games or Spain with Sweden, Poland and Slovakia. You may even want to go with England who have Croatia, Scotland and Czech Republic but i do think the Croatia game will be tough.
