    Euro 2020 – Thursday 17th June 20.00

It’s Austria vs Netherlands in both teams second Euro 2020 Group C game. We take a look at the stats and best football tips.

This game looks a cracker on paper with both teams winning their first match and scoring plenty of goals. These two last played in 2016, a 0-2 win for the Netherlands.

Ukraine and North Macedonia make up the group and it looks like this match will decide the group winner, if there is a loser they would likely end up in a battle for second with the Ukraine. The bookies rate the Netherlands 4/7 favourites, with the draw at 3/1 and Austria 5/1.

Austria faced North Macedonia in their first match and got off to a great start winning 3-1. Netherlands beat the Ukraine 3-2 but should have won the game more comfortably.

    Austria – PL 10 | Won 6 | GF 19 | GA 9

The Austrians got off to a good start wining 3-1 against North Macedonia. They left it quite late with the score still 1-1 until a 78th minute Gregoritsch goal and then Arnautovic added just before the 90 minute mark. Austria had 63% of possession, hit 6 shots on target and won four corners. Austria have won 8 of their last 16 matches but do seem to struggle when they step up in class having lost to England, Denmark and Poland but beating the teams ranked lower than them.

    Player Bookings:

    • Marko Arnautović – 4 goals in 6 appearance & 2.56 SOT per 90
    • Marcel Sabitzer – 2 goals in 7 appearance & 1.48 SOT per 90

    Netherlands – PL 8 | Won 6 | GF 24 | GA 7

The Netherlands were involved in an entertaining match with Ukraine which they managed to make a lot more hard work than it should have been. They dominated the game and went 2-0 up but had a five minutes to forget where Ukraine hit two goals in quick succession. Denzel Dumfries then managed to hit the winner 85 minutes into the match. The Dutch had 61% of possession, hit 15 shots and won 5 corners. Wijnaldum was particularly impressive in an advanced midfield role and hit the opener as well as 5 shots and 2 shots on target.

    Goalscorers and Shots on Target:

    • Georginio Wijnaldum – 7 goals in 5 appearances & 2.80SOT per 90
    • Memphis Depay – 3 goals in 4 appearances & 2.00 SOT per 90
    • Ryan Babel – 2 goals in 4 appearances & 1.41 SOT per 90

Betting Tips: Both teams seem better going forward than defensively and i think the Dutch will be involved in some entertaining games. I think we will see plenty of goals.
