Daniel Dubois v Bogdan Dinu
Saturday 5th June – 22.00
Daniel Dubois takes on Bogdan Dinu in his first fight after losing to Joe Joyce. We take a look at the best boxing betting tips.
Daniel Dubois lost to Joe Joyce last time out and will be looking to get back on track with a win against Bogdan Dino at the Telford International Centre for the vacant World Boxing Association Interim World Heavy Title.
Bogdan Dinu is a Romanian Heavyweight ranked 58 in the world and has only had two notable fights, he lost both against Jarrell Miller and Kubrat Pulev. The Miller fight came after a win in Romania against a fighter who had lost 15 fights. He got KO’d in round 4 and then thought it was a good idea to take on Pulev. He’s obviously a fighter happy to get in the ring with anybody for a decent paycheck.
Daniel Dubois is ranked 29 in the world and the gulf in class should probably be bigger than the gap between 58 and 29 suggests. Dubois needs to make a statement after the Joyce loss and will be looking to get Dinu out of there quickly. Against Joyce, Dubois controversially took a knee in the tenth round after suffering a damaged orbital bone but somewhat bizarrely now has the chance to become mandatory challenger to the WBA world title. Boxing’s notorious politics have worked well for Daniel Dubois and he will be in a good place if the can get past Dinu. That shouldn’t be an issue and the main concern i have is picking when. The bookies agree with Dubois a 1/33 favourite.
Jarrell Miller KO’d Dinu in round four and Kubrat Pulev KO’d him in round seven. We expect Dubois to get the job done in the first half of the fight.
