International Friendly – England vs Romania
International Friendly – Sunday 6th June 17.00
It’s England’s second and final Euro 2020 warm up game and they take on Romania on Sunday. We take a look at the Stats and best Football Tips.
The preparations for Euro 2020 are really stepping up now and after this game it will only be a matter of days until the tournament kicks off. England play their first game next Sunday against Croatia in a tough opening fixture.
England will be without the injured Harry Maguire, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Trent unfortunately injured in the Austria game and set to miss the tournament.
Romania have no injury worries but Florin Tanase is suspended after being sent off in their last match.
England – Form
The Three Lions faced Austria in their previous match and it was a pretty drab affair with England grinding out a 1-0 win. The game started brightly enough with England finding a lot of space out wide and Saka and Alexander-Arnold getting into some great positions but unable to finish. It appears the Austrian’s then decided to change strategy and shut up shop, with England struggling to break them down for much of the game other than a Saka goal in the 56th minute. England last played prior to that, in March and those three games went well with an expected 5-0 win against San Marino and good wins against Albania and Poland.
Romania – Form
It wasn’t a great result for Romania in their previous match as they lost 1-2 to Georgia. That was in part due to the 41st minute sending off of Romania player Florin Tanase. Georgia then score two goals with Romania pulling back a consolation late on. Prior to that they lost 3-2 to Armenia, 0-1 to Germany and beat North Macedonia 3-2. That’s three of four games with three or more goals.
Betting Tips: The stats suggest goals with 70% of both teams matches seeing over 2.5 goals but that would require you to look past England’s drab performance versus Austria and the odds aren’t great anyway. England’s goal came in the second half and Romania’s game saw three second half goals so that’s where i am going to look for value.

William Hill Euro 2020 Deal – £5 Free Bets
William Hill are offering a very good deal with a £10 bet on the tournament winner getting a £5 free bet for every group match won. The best teams to back there would be Belgium who share a group with Denmark, Finland and Russia and would expect to win all three games or Spain with Sweden, Poland and Slovakia. You may even want to go with England who have Croatia, Scotland and Czech Republic but i do think the Croatia game will be tough.
