Wales vs Denmark – Euro 2020

    Euro 2020 – Saturday 26th June 17.00

It’s Wales vs Denmark in the Round of 16 at Euro 2020. We take a look at the stats and best football tips.

Wales play Denmark on Saturday in a huge Round of 16 clash with both teams in good form and doing well to qualify from their groups. These two played each other in the Nations League in 2018 and Denmark won both games. The first in September Denmark won 2-0 at home and then in November they won 1-2 away.

The bookies rate Wales at 9/2 to win, the draw at 21/10 and Denmark are 5/6 favourites.

Wales drew their opening game with Switzerland and beat Turkey 2-0 to qualify. Denmark lost their two opening games but beat Russia 4-1 in their last game to qualify.

    Wales – PL 3 | Won 1 | GF 3 | GA 2

Rated by the bookies most likely to finish bottom of their group, Wales have been fantastic and fully deserve their place in the knockout rounds. They managed a hard earned draw against Switzerland and then emphatically beat Turkey 2-0. They lost 0-1 to Italy in the final game but both teams had already qualified. In all three games they have surrendered position with less than 40% of possession and have then looked to hit the opposition on the counter.

    • Gareth Bale – 0 goal in 3 appearances & 0.68 SOT per 90

    Denmark – PL 3 | Won 1 | GF 5 | GA 4

The Danes have been brilliant and have reacted very well to an extremely emotional and tough opening match against Finland where Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch. Thankfully he is doing well and the Denmark players appear to be inspired in giving their all for their teammate. Denmark are probably the team you don’t want to play at the moment as they are fueled by emotion and playing out of their skins. Andreas Christensen is even hitting long distance screamers.

Betting Tips: I think Denmark will dominate possession and Wales will look to break on the counter. Corners look a decent option and the Danes like to shoot.
